5 years is quite a break and a lot has happened in the meantime. My last post was published on December the 9th, 2009, while I was at home in Estonia and to name just some events that have occurred over the last 6 years, here is the list:
traveled back to Australia, weighed up all pros and cons, and left it for good in October 2010 (by that time I had obtained Australian permanent visa and worked in my friends' company Technical Resources for about 6 months);
settled in in Tartu, Estonia and after about 6 month in my apartment in Tallinn;
established my very first and very own company Swesteng Languages in Estonian in January 2011;
met Andres after about 15 years and we got married in September 2012;
lost my dearest dog Brutus in August 2012 and got my new dog Nööp in November 2012 and (as if it was not enough :)), the other dog Nuumi in February 2013;
and ever since we have been living happily in our apartment in Tallinn. :)
And to name a hobby too - at the end of 2014 I found golf again.
Thank you, Ülle, to remind me my blog (yes, I had forgot!)!
Lots of trips have I had in these 6 years too. Not as long distance oversea trips as those back in 2008 and 2009 but yet some. Could even say that a kind of Nordic epoch has arrived, had never even thought of traveling to the Nordic as often as we do now. 2 weeks in Stockholm in August 2011 to attend a Swedish language course, the 2011-2012 New Year’s Eve in Stockholm,
trip to Karlstad in March 2013 to visit my husband’s relatives, not to mention lots of trips to Sweden over all these years to do some business.
Then, back in spring 2013, we traveled to Germany with Andres, purchased the cutest car in the - world – Mini Cooper – and drove all the way back through Germany, Denmark, Sweden and then by ferry to Tallinn.
Plus a concert trip to Copenhagen to see and discover Suede in June 2013.
Plus a long weekend in London in November 2011 where we attended Colplay's concert in O2 Arena, another long weekend in London in the early-spring 2014 to see Suede in the Royal Albert's Hall.
Plus countless number of trips over to Helsinki, including a trip to see my beloved Sigur Rós in Hartwall Arena in September 2013. And this was a blessed year for I had seen them also back in June at a festival called Positivus in Latvia.
Plus a trip to Oslo in May 2014.
Couple of trips to the US also, the first one of them back in January 2012 to attend a global meeting of Transatlantic Translations in NYC,
and the second one in June 2013 to be at Karin's and Aurelio's wedding in Danbury.
On my way home, I spent 2-3 days in Manchester with Andres and we went to see his favorite band Pet Shop Boys.
And then, of course, our honeymoon in Italy back in September 2012 but this is a totally different story and another post to cover that trip will come soon.
So what now? Any dreams to travel somewhere? Sure, here comes my little list of dream-lands (where number 1 stands for a country or other location that I am the most keen to travel to etc.) I would pack my bag even today to leave for:
1. New Zealand – the whole wonderland New Zealand always and forever,
2. Australia – for I used to live there once and is deep in my heart,
3. Iceland – because this is the country where Sigur Rós comes from and seems like something totally out of this world,
4. Japan – because there is something about that far-east country and the people,
5. Scotland, England, USA (Montana, San Francisco), Switzerland... etc.
In Tallinn, on the 5th of January 2015
