About trips in past

Pic 1: Thailand
Pic 2: Italy, Rome
Pic 3: Russia, St Petersburg
ve travelled pretty much in past and who knows, maybe i will never go back to some of those places, i think i should write some memories here.

My very first trip to abroad was... i guess... in 1995 to Finland. Like all Estonians i bet. And as we had belonged to Soviet Union for 50 years, when our borders were closed, going To Finland in 1995 when Estonia finally was a free country again, was an awesome experience.

My relative Ülle was living there, far in north with her husband and son. So i, and my boyfriend, decided to visit them in Christmastime. We got lost with the train because we were told to change to train on half way, but neigther of us could understand what we were told to do. Finally we reached pretty far from the place we wished to reach, made a call to my relatives and spent some hours in a small village pub, waiting until my nice relatives came and picked us up. But it was fun, and exciting :) Unfortunately i don´t have any pics of the trip to add here.

My very first trip somewhere very far was in 1997 to South Africa Republic. I was 20, went there alone and everybody at home thought i´m totally crazy. But i did it and oh, it was wonderful 2-weeks trip. I landed in Johannesburg, headed on to Port Elizabeth and finished in Cape Town. I really would like to go back one day. Lovely place, handsome people and fabulous nature.

Then, in years 1998 and 2000 i visited US for 2 times. The first time in NY and Miami, next time again in NY (it´s incredible place - huge, thousands and millions of people who all are so different and who knows where coming from), but also in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

Then, in years 1999-2006 i´ve travelled to Thailand for 4, or even 5 times. Can´t remember. First to Phuket, then again Phuket and also Koh Samui, and once to Koh Chang. So in conclusion i´ve been there only in beach areas and for some hours in Bangkok airport, haven´t seen inland areas at all.
I also don´t miss going to inland and jungles because i fear snakes :) My most terrible nightmares are with snakes. I wish i could help myself somehow, life would be even more beautiful. Without fears.
Then... i´ve been to many European countries like UK, Israel, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Poland, Turkey, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Netherlands, Luxemburg and some former Soviet Union states. Egypt in Africa.

For ages i liked the most Italy and Rome, it is full of history and feeling what i feel there... don´t have words to describe it. The way Italians enjoy life, it is for always serious Estonians worth to learn from them.
In 2006 i travelled to UK and London for the first time. Again, i don´t know what is it about the city, but i love it. Brits are like they are, a bit strange i think, but i love them. I adore the parks and beautiful, clean streets, lovely small shops and caffee´s. The countryside, landscapes and castles.
In spring 2008 i travelled to Holy Land Israel and fell in love with The Country. Israel means a lot for Christians and so it means a lot to me. I liked everything there - the nature, the people (the Jews are indeed different from any other nation) and their hospitality. As the country is half as small as Estonia, all together approximately 20 000 sq/m-s, we saw all the main places in 6 days: Tel Aviv, Haifa, Nazareth, Bethlem, Jerico, Dead Sea (yes, i felt how it was to lay in sea!!) and also comprehended what it really is, what´s going on there about politics.
I would recommend everyone to go there once. It is not dangerous place at all though the press overreacts and tells awful stories as usual. Common people, as you can understand, are really unhappy for that.
So in conclusion Israel was really a big surprise for me. And will be my no 1 country for sure.
And now, my next trip - around the world!! - will start after 10 days.

Actually it is great to be waiting for something

I´ve always thought that waiting for something beautiful and exciting is wonderful. I´ve waited for... happenings and ... for some people in my life. I think i´ve learnt how to do it and have learnt to enjoy it as well. Makes me become patient.
Now i´m waiting for my next trip and hope to be enjoying sun and warmth soon at a beach again as you can see me doing here :) Mmmmmm... (though i´m not smiling here and next time i´ll do it for sure).

We all are waiting for something. For a birthday, for Christmas, for spring, for someone special to come... But i wait for November in this year, which may sound absurd because November is the darkest month in Estonia and everyone would love to leave here by that time. Right, and that´s the point - i am not going to spend my November 2008 in Estonia. Haa!

Still some weeks to go. These days will be sunny i hope. It is really beatiful autumn here in this year.

Counting days

It is definitely one very ordinary Saturday at home today. I woke up, had swimming workout and need to start going to a singing performance. It is so grey-grey-grey outside, but not in myself... I am the lucky one who will pack a bag, ok bags cause i always have hundreds of things i need with me and puting them all to one bag will be complicated. That´s what lifts me up and puts a smile to my face right now :)

You can also see my new boots which have been bought specially for tracking in New Zealand.
All other necessary things have been purchased too - sun block, back pack... mmm.... lots of books cause i´d love to read a lot during the trip.

Life is beautiful!! :)

Looking forward to my huge trip

It is Friday 10th October, i just learnt from my friend how to create a blog and so here i am, starting with it. SO THIS IS MY VERY FIRST WRITING HERE :)
There have left 4 weeks until i and my good friend Katri will be gone from here. Yeah right, exactly on Friday after 4 weeks we´ll be sitting in a plane, starting a flight from London to Singapore. If everything goes as it has been planed.
I pray God to let everything go well with us.

Shortly about our big plan:
- will leave Tallinn at midday, 7th November and fly to London;
- will continue flying in evening, 7th November and reach Singapore on 8th November and have 2-3 days in Singapore (there should be 30-35 degrees heat, yeee!!);
- will leave Singapore in evening, 11th November and reach Auckland at midday 12.11.;
- will spend 11 days in New Zealand, exploring both wonderful north and south islands, tracking in awesome south island and seeing such cities as Auckland, Christchurch, Queenstown and Wellington;
- will leave Auckland in evening 23th November and reach San Fransisco on 24th November and have 2 days in US´s one of the greatest cities;
- will continue flying towards home, reaching London on 26th November and heading home at the same day.
